Dough-nuts?!?!
Since living in Egypt our family has mourned the loss of good, melt in your mouth dough-nuts. We do have Cinnabon, but it just isn’t the sames as a Paradise glazed doughnut, or a cake doughnut from Krispy-Kreme! So we have attempted twice to make our own. So far they have just been ok, we are still on the look out for the best recipe. One night after dinner, we, or let me make the CORRECTION, Adam decided he wanted doughnuts. He and Stacey began the process, and before long we had doughnuts. They were good, just not the same!

Your quest for donuts makes me smile. According to Google you can find donuts in Cairo…”The Bakery” at the Cairo Marriott hotel in Zamelek and “House of Donuts” in El Aseel Supermarket (phone +20-2-4504505). I hope one of these is close enough to try. I think you are very brave and faithful and maybe a donut would make you a little bit at home.

What fun! That would be frustrating to really want something and just not be able to get it. I’m impressed with the attempt to make the donuts…I wish I could send you some!!

Well, looks like you made some good doughnuts, they look yummy to me! Liz you should try to get Aunt Mable’s cinnamon roll recipe, see if Mimi or ARuthann have it. We miss you all terribly! Praying for you.

Hey Pray family!
I just caught up on some of your blogs…Ill be praying for you with language and adjusting to the culture. I know how exhausting that can be!
The Buitragos came down to Ecuador on a mission trip and I got to catch up with them for a little bit. Reminded me of the good ol IT training days.
Can you get good American DVD’s? That always helps me feel like I’m not on a different planet
Good luck on the donuts!
